Since the last post, Alex has had a big move. All three Germany missions had their geographical boundaries redefined, Berlin, Frankfurt, and Hamburg. Since Alex was near the border of the Berlin mission when this happened, his area got absorbed into the Frankfurt mission. Which means that he’s now a missionary in a different mission than he was originally called to!

He also recently got transferred from Gotha to a new town named Hochst.

So in the past month or so, he’s gotten a new mission, a new mission president, a new area, and a new companion. He’s handling it well, though.

In his most recent email, he says:
“So, the 17th is my 6 month mark!!!!!! Not that I’m counting down but time flies and it’s good to think back to where i was 6 months ago. Looking in my [Preach My Gospel manual], I see sentences I wrote down in german and now I think, wow, that is quite pathetic, hahah. But now I can understand so much and speak so much, it’s quite awesome. Weird to think I’m a quarter of the way through, but I’ve accomplished so much already, things will keep just looking up.

Alex safely arrived in Berlin on Wednesday, somehow managing to make it only two hours behind schedule despite the chaos caused by that Icelandic volcano.

As soon as he starts sending pictures, I’ll post them here on his blog.
